Project Nakitty Closure: Thank You!

Hi everyone.

As of today, I will be closing the Project Nakitty blog completely.

It is time to call it quits. I did contemplate closure in a previous article and looks like its time. This is the last article.

EOY 2023: Saying Goodbye to 2023

December 2023. Its back to EOY. An annual event usually held around the end of the year celebrating Japanese pop-culture with perfomances, booths and other things.

Its literally the last weekend of 2023 with Sunday being the last day of the month. Guests include Japan's odorites Miko and Lilia, Thailand's Kaimook and Mint (The Glass Girls) and Ice (Star Cosmune). Ice and Glass Girls is the main draw for me due to their idol background. So how did the event go?

AFA 2023 - STARDOM, Kisses and Boredom

Anime Festival Asia. An event that I swore an oath to not attend anymore. An event that causes anger years past. Disappointment always goes hand in hand whenever "AFA" is mentioned.

Yet here I am, waking up early and braving the snaking queue.

What is a Nakitty? Why Nakitty Channel? Will My Page Die??

Its August and finally I completed something major. I have updated a new logo for both my youtube channel and facebook page! After years of procrastination, somehow I managed to muster enough energy to complete something that would've taken you a day or two. Never underestimate the power of laziness!

To mark this so-called glorious day, lets start a campfire and gather around. Its time for me to tell you the origin and story behind this blog.

How I Got Dragged into Idoru Culture

The doors open, I was ushered to the back. Minutes later, the lights dimmed. Whispers and murmurs around when someone suddenly stood up and started shouting. I looked in bewilderment as he rallies the crowd by shouting names of people I dont know.  Each time a name was spoken, everyone cheered. Soon, the overture starts. The screaming fans, the sea of lightsticks. Ahead, you affix your gaze towards the group infront of you...  Its a start of something new... my first experience in an idol concert...

2020: What A Year Indeed...

In a nutshell: 2020 is a terrible year. for events. Both idorus and the likes.

The only idoru event attended was Japan Expo Thailand. And no chance to attend next year's Japan Expo Thailand too. Besides Japan idorus might not appear, unless countries adopt the travel bubble. But seeing how bad Japan cases are, it wont be so soon.

VIRTUAL CONVENTIONS: Japan Expo Malaysia & Anime Festival Asia

WOW! Finally an article!

COVID-19 has been ruthless causing events cancelled everywhere, hindering people from gathering in large groups or attend anything pop-culture related. So yeah, no events to attend to and unleash your inner yakkai. However, these setbacks has caused organizers to be novel and creative. Since people cant go to our events, how about bringing it over to people?

Thus this years edition of Japan Expo Malaysia and Anime Festival Asia has gone Virtual~~

[Rant Out Corner] Global Cancels Activated!

Even bookshelf is getting empty.... Sad

As events get cancelled due to the global pandemic caused by the coronavirus COVID-19, my plans to attend Wyenra live in Thailand back in March were scuppered. Then Wyenra announced event is postphoned and I have no business to be there. Afterwards, its cancelled altogether. In fact this is my 2nd time I cancelled a trip to Bangkok. As disappointed as I am, guess I have to write up an article to pass the time before idol events starts proper.

2019: This Year in Retrospect - My Heartfelt Post

I usually end the year with the best of and worst of list. Only 2018 I skipped due in part I can't upload an article in time. However, this year edition, the bad outweigh the good unfortunately. Anyways....

This year, is most touching year ever.

Autumn Trip: Sancha Fest and Ramen Fest

Another round of idol centric events. Its the Sancho Fest and Tokyo Ramen Show! Next day will be Ready To Kiss CD release live (which I might write another article).

On 2nd November, we have two back to back events happening around Setagaya. First is some school festival (think Seiransai) and the other one is Tokyo Ramen Show. Why the hell am I at a Ramen Show?? I cant even eat any of them (due to dietary concerns)! Well there's idols gracing the event thats why!

The Ultimate Halloween with The Ultimate Company

Its been a very long time since I visited Japan during Autumn. Contemplated and decided on end October to coincide with Halloween. They say Shibuya will be bursting with life with meltdowns and such, so why not? Since its Halloween, attended the Shibuya Ultimate Halloween. Event spans 3 days but its quite expensive. After some apprehension, decided on attending the last day only. Didnt regret it one bit.

Music Matters SG 2019 - Meeting Dear Kiss!

Music Matters SG announced DEAR KISS as one of the guest performers to grace Clarke Quay. My last Music Matters event had me encounter Naoto Inti Raymi and The Oral Cigarettes. Both were invited for the 2014 edition, both were interesting especially Naoto Inti Raymi. However, from that year till now, I never seen an idol group got themselves invited.

SPW: Klash of Kings Event - Kenny Omega and Eyyyyaaaakkk!

Natsuiro Party Final Live

Gah, 2019 is a horrid year. Not only I have to contend with Yuechi's graduation, even my favourite local cover group is disbanding! Yeap, Natsuiro Party's final live. After 3 years of Triangle Dreamer, Joudan Janai and other earworm worthy songs, this is it. Disband! Bye Bye. Sotsugyou Omedetou!
