CHEERZ is a mobile/web-based fan engagement app where people can support their favourite idols. There idols will post photos and messages, and fans show their support by spamming "hearts". Show your love! Show your support! GO SPAM THOSE HEARTS!
OK, whats the use of spamming hearts when you have sources such as twitter for liking their photos? Well the added incentive of this service is that CHEERZ will have events and "rewards". Idols selected for an event that has the most hearts wins it. It could be a them appearing on magazines, their photos on billboards, exclusive interviews etc. Even idols themselves, should they update on CHEERZ everyday will get rewarded too. Previously they would appear on "CHEERZ photobook". Also top fans will win rewards such as video messages too! Some idols on CHEERZ post voice messages, only catch is to spam a set number of hearts to hear it.
A loudspeaker icon denotes you can get her voice message! |
CHEERZ previously held events where top idol will have their group attend regional events. BPM15Q and Stand-Up Hearts appearance in Moshi Moshi Nippon and Anime Festival Asia respectively are notable examples.
(If you want to know the story of how BPM15Q ended up in Singapore via CHEERZ, go here > http://xdanthemanx.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-untold-story-of-bpm15q-journey-to-singapore.html)
Events are not limited to idols themselves too. They even have events such as MsID where normal folks can join**.
All previous events |
Previously an event just ended where people stand to win signed "sunglasses". Just be the top number 1 fan with the most hearts, and you shall bag the prize!
I know you want my glasses~~ |
Seems easy enough eh? You spammed all your hearts, you're top on last day, event over and suddenly....
GAH! I LOST! HOW DARE THAT PERSON WINS?!
Just too bad, someone won! |
Ok, so how do you win it?
CHEERZ is not so charitable to distribute ALOT of free hearts. To get more hearts? You need to buy them. Here are the tiers for hearts purchase.
Lets do some calculation:
You exhausted all your points, need 40 points to recharge.
1 cheerz = 4 points
40 points? Its just 10 CHEERZ.
So you want 1000 CHEERZ?
1000 x 4 = 4000 points
Buy the 56.57 one, you get 2500 pts + 1500 bonus
so its 4000. By approximation, 1000 points is around 14 dollars?
You want have 2K+ to be safe? Spend twice. Perhaps better you buy the one that costs 110 dollars? Since it has alot of bonus points. And the list goes on.
There's also the number of hearts you have depending on the level you're at.
For 80+, it takes around 90+ CHEERZ to recharge |
If you are level 80+, you get to throw 90+ CHEERZ
However, it will take more than a day to recharge all your CHEERZ back.
Let's say you are level 50, you need perhaps 12 hours to recharge all? You can opt to wait half a day. It does seem alot of maths are involved.
When you download the app, you start at Level 1. Spam all the hearts and reach the CHEERZ target, you will level up, and get more hearts. Recharge time for 1 point is always fixed at 20 mins. Because of this absurdly long recharge time for higher levels, thats why some people opt to start a new account whenever an event beckons. They can recharge and get more rewards points easier this way.
Common trend to see lower levels in newly created events |
Once recharge, they will wipe clean all your remaining points, thus it make sense to clear it before recharging comes. Also once you level up, the number of points needed for the next tier changes. Every point matters. That one point will either makes you a winner or 2nd best.
Ultimately, you still have to pump in the $$ if you want more hearts.
But I dont want to spend money!
Its actually possible to win with free CHEERZ points. In fact a number won it via this method (notably one of the admins of my page did it twice, in fact I did won one in this manner too). Nowadays CHEERZ is much more competitive. You need to be number 1 as opposed to when it just started, top 3 can nail you rewards such as voice messages. Sometimes there are lull periods where the top fans just dont pump insane amounts.
Getting free points? How?
Everyday CHEERZ will reward you with free points. Just login everyday! Previously its fixed depending on level, I believe it was 60? However, now you need to view people's profiles to earn it. View 25 and above random idols, get yourself 25 points! Also viewing a video once per day can nail you 10 points.
Following idols seems to play a part too as my comrade who has close to 80 favourited idols has more points than me. Still the mechanics of points distribution works seems fuzzy for now. (if we know how, will update and append to this post)
So if you are a patient bugger, you can amass 20K points after a year logging in everyday and easily earn you 4-5K CHEERZ.
Alright I got them points, time to spam it all!
Ah! Not so fast. Spam it all and be number 1 on the very first day, 2 things can happen:
1) People see the points, they leave you alone. "I dont wanna mess with him!"
2) People see, and now they know how much they need to overtake you at the very last minute. Or "Ah! here comes a rival! I'm gonna flexxxx"
Keywords: At the very last minute.
Usually not everyone will "show hand" at the start. They will assert their intent first, perhaps with just 100+ to 1000K points. And gradually the points rise. Some will just hide for awhile and then throw it all on the last day. Also this way, it makes the competition much more fun, especially during the last hour. Through the event, you can see rankings of who is top for the hour, for the day and the current event duration. An eager person would hover around the top 10. Sometimes one sees the current level of those in the top 10 for the day. "Ah someone level 90, spammed 2K, should I commit and leave him alone? He might have extra points!"
The "All kill button" is found on the web app. FULL CHEERZ lets you bank in ALL of your CHEERZ. They would prompt again to pump the point rewards. This way, you wont tire your fingers on the mobile app or scream when lag or app hanged during the process.
The All Kill FULL CHEERZ on web app |
Also utilize their reward periods. Sometimes they will announce hearts recharge is just 2 points instead of 4 for just 1 hour. Most of the time, they entice people to buy CHEERZ points at discounted prices one day before event ends. Perhaps you want to spend money then?
Some of the CHEERZ promo available |
Some scenarios to consider.
One scenario, Person A spammed 4K on day 6, noone commit. Person A becomes confident and leave it alone. Last hour Person B spammed 4K + 1 and wins event!
Or another, Person A spammed 5K on 2nd last day. Next person is 4.5K away. They see his level, they get the jitters and left him alone. Person A won the event with the same exact number of points. Points were from free CHEERZ.
Even they have money to spare, CHEERZ hearts are quite precious and they do want to win it with least amount possible. One way to tell is to open the web-based cheerz and refresh the person's profile. Gauge how much you want to pump via how much the number has risen. If you see it jumps alot 5-10K, it could be alot of people spamming. Else it could be just one person throwing it all. There you assess, to commit or not to commit? The choice is yours~
It also helps if the member you cheering for is not so famous. Popular members command insane amount of cheerz points, so good luck trying to aim someone from Maneki Kecha. Sometimes their goods looks haphazardly signed (looking at you Hiyori!) and might turn people off from committing.
Komaki's last event. I better back off |
Also, know your hardware specs and your own physical limitations.
Through experience, I lost to someone because I tried to spam last minute via the phone (pressing manually there). Didnt make it in time to amass 2K to beat the person. It didnt help that phone lags like hell and my fingers hurt even though its just single tap pressing. So much so, that for the last event I opt the FULL CHEERZ and bank in all of my points (Since I kinda not using the app much anymore)
I've amassed alot to spam 5K. Guess its overkill but effective. I can rest easy that I dont actually spend alot for it.
Next CHEERZ event would be AtJam, and last year it was a signed cap. To anyone trying to play, GOOD LUCK!
