Tokyo Living Dead Idol - Nana & Zombies

In the horror genre, alot of people are fascinated by zombies. These creatures of the undead chasing people silly and add in with the mystery how "zombification" happens (usually unexplained) somehow excites most movie goers. So imagine a movie where we mix zombies and idols! This happened in the horror-comedy movie "Tokyo Living Dead Idol" featuring Asakawa Nana (SUPER☆GIRLS). As part of the Scream Asia Film Festival during this Halloween period, this movie is one of those featured from a list of international horror shows.

Amazingly Nana, Shogen and director Yuki Kumagai attended the screening of this movie in Singapore. Thats right, Asakawa Nana aka Naapon in Singapore! We havent had a SUPER☆GIRLS member gracing our shores for an official event! Since she was announced, seats for the movie were selling out quick!

Every seats being snapped up!

Naapon seems to be enjoying her time here! Just look at the photos she uploaded to her twitter!

SUMMARY
A brief summary, story starts with idol Miku Kamiya (played by Asakawa Nana) got bitten by a zombie and she has 72 hours to find a cure. She goes on a run and recruits the help of a detective (played by Shogen) while being pursued by both zombies and zombie hunters alike. Theres a number of idol references and alot of silly moments which I am very sure Idol fans can relate. Movie wasn't meant to be serious, its a light-hearted fun take on the zombie theme. The only gripe is that the movie should have more Yumeri screen time!

End movie after the credits roll, its the Q&A session. Throughout the session, we found out that one of the director's favourite zombie film is Battalion of the Living Dead. Nana on the other hand, has no favourite zombie films but she draws some inspiration from zombie themed games like Biohazard. Whereas Shogen, in fluent English, stated he especially likes The Walking Dead and he loves to work in overseas collaborations.

The director teased there might be sequel. One of the more serious questions posed to him was if normal people can relate to some of pop culture / cultural references in the movie, which the director assured that there should be no issue. However the most interesting one was given to Nana: What was the most extreme moment she received from her fans. She said she received an iphone7 as a gift but stated she rejected it and return it back to the said fan. That answer resulted in series of gasps by the audience in attendance.

Everyone on stage at end event

After all is done and dusted, we proceeded to collect flyers from the stars. Thats not all, we can take a photo together with the stars too! Whoooa! Photo with Naapon! We're very unlucky with it comes to SUPER☆GIRLS members, memories of the Amita snub still lingers fresh. Regardless, we're going to have a photo together and have limited talk time. She does seem to be very very cheery.

Based on the reactions of the attendees onsite, I guess everyone are fully satisfied with this event. Well, if a sequel does happen, I hope it features Yumeri as the main star lolz.

Please we want Yumeri as main star!
