Its been a hectic week... Loads of events jam packed on the last week April all the way till Labour Day. Most notably, I flew back to Thailand again! This time to attend both Anime Festival Asia and Thailand Comic Con, both happening over the same week (30 April till 3rd May.)

For Thailand Comic Con, I managed to receive the press pass access. Thus I have a decent amount of freedom (and snap exclusive photos!). Additionally collaborated with Roaming Dog & nubu515 for content.
Officially the con starts on 30th April. It starts with Anime Idol Asia concert to kick off the whole event. Due to conflicting schedules, I only manage to attend event on Saturday which is Day 3
Day 1! Mission Start!

First up is the meet & greet session with cosplayers. Its my first time meeting Saku and she dons the Hestia costume. Fanboys will surely love the fanservice shown here but she's very creative to provide CDs as photosets. Here's the list of cosplayers available for the con itself.

Most prominent one is Natumi as I had met her before during Singapore's Funan Anime Matsuri. She loves to cosplay as Watanabe Mayu aka Mayuyu, an AKB48 member. I was cursing my luck because HIKO cosplayed as Mariko Shinoda the day before. Would love to take a photo of that! Previously I did not take a photo with Natumi, not gonna let that chance slip this time! Got her to sign her photoset too! woots!

The main purpose for attending today's event: Tomomi Itano! This lady is an ex-AKB48 member. For all the AKB48 and their sister groups concerts in Singapore, I've yet to see an actual Senbatsu member live in venue. Granted that I did see Rino Sasshihara during last year's Tokyo Idol Festival, this one is where I can actually take photos and videos of. She kinda soft-spoken for this Meet & Greet Session. I guess she had a long flight and was worn out. Also theres a legion of fans! As evident from the photos below.

Nearby, a male japanese group called DISH// held an autograph session too. Theres a long line of fangirls waiting for their autographs. One has to buy the official photosets at a booth nearby to qualify for it. I did saw DISH// performed once in Odaiba Japan and them having a very very big pool of fangirls was not surprising. In fact, they were very passionate and their wotageing is something that needs to be witnessed. Though I did not attend their performance here, I can roughly imagine the intensity.

Day 2! Yumeado Surprise!
My main mission for Day 2: Yumemiru Adolescence, a Japanese Idol group. They have a photo taking session too but sadly circumstances dont allow me to. Went into venue late this time as I had another engagement to fulfil in the morning. This time I accompanied Kwanny, that same friend who bought Berryz Kobou tickets, into the venue. By then, they have already ended the Yumemiru Adolescence photo session so either way, I wont be able to get a photo opportunity. On the other hand, Roaming Dog wanted to watch and record the cover dance group Suteki Wings performance. This cover group usually covers songs from the anime Love Live and they have a good following of fans.
Yumemiru Adolescence Meet & Greet is up next! I dont follow this group much thus used this chance to know them more. They have visited Thailand alot of times, one of them being last year's Anime Idol Asia concert in which Dempagumi.inc came down too. Members of Yumemiru Adolescence aka Yumeado consists of the following: Shida Yuumi, Ogino Karin, Yamada Akari, Rei Kobayashi and Kyouka. Shida Yuumi had a earlier join the star of Kamen Rider Gaim on stage during his Meet & Greet session. They had an interesting session with the hosts showing the audience montages of their visit here. In between, someone did a tribute by singing their song in Thai. And to end it off, they presented Yamada Akari a birthday cake wishing her a belated birthday.

Sano Gaku, star of Kamen Rider Gaim has an autograph session too. Again long lines especially Kamen Rider fans. Was surprised to see my Singaporean acquaintance inside the queue too! Guess his presence attracts fans region wide to attend.

VENUE, What Do You Say To The God of Death?!
Venue-wise, this con are split up into 2 areas. Firstly, after event goers purchased their tickets, they will be whisked into this area outside the main hall. Here is where they showcase different vendors selling & showcasing their goods. Most of them are comic book figures. The particularly interesting booth is one called Kingdom Come Studyo. This basically "By Thais, For Thais" booth. They showcase action figures created by Thai comic artists and they really looked good! Other booths are standard fare with Marvel, DC and Kamen Riders all around.

Next area is the hall area. They have a section for buying guest performers goods. Its together with the photo area section and the main stage. Over the other side are games corner. I tried the one which they showcase Tokyo 7th Sister, a mobile rhythm music game. You can get their goods after trying the game once. At the back section is the movie backdrop area which they showcase Mad Max and Star Wars. Games of Thrones star, Miltos Yuerolemo mada an appearance at the con. Buying his goods allows you to take photos of him. I manage to take a video of him spouting those famous words.

This con is decent enough, with the star guests making up an awesome experience. If not for the clash of schedules, I would like to attend for all days. Please do visit my FB page and youtube for more content!
