SCANDAL Hello World Concert!

Its been quite sometime since I've last attended a SCANDAL concert. The last one was their concert held in SCAPE around 2-3 years back. I got my first exposure to SCANDAL when introduced to their MV way back in 2009. Its quite a new experience for me to see an all female group doing rock songs. And they're musically talented too! The members themselves composed most of the songs, most notably their bassist Tomomi. They penned their own lyrics too and have the looks and charms to boot. Kinda rubbed onto me and got my first taste of their live performance during AFA 2009. 

SCANDAL during 2013 Meet & Greet event

This time SCANDAL announced their Hello World world tour with Singapore as one of their stops. The Singapore leg was held in Hard Rock Coliseum on Sentosa island. Dan from XDanTheManX Online, received media invites and cordially invited me to colloborate for this event. Thanks Dan and SOZO for the invite!

For this concert, they played some classics such as Shunkan Sentimental, DOLL and SCANDAL BABY. They included songs from their Hello World album too! A first for this concert was that each member took turns to sing solos. And RINA SUZUKI (my own personal fave member!) take reprieve from the drums and played the guitar!

Each members has their own charm points.

HARUNA (lead guitarist) this time improved her usage of English language. She still have it in her to rally the crowd around.
MAMI (guitarist) has the aura of attraction. She can show off her skills on the guitar! Though theres a part which MAMI forgot part of her lyrics, all is fine as she still can enchant the crowd. Based on accounts from the crowd, she was known to be charming during the Hi Touch session. 
TOMOMI (bassist) or TIMO as her fans affectionally called her, has a unique voice. Theres quite a legion of Timo fans too. During the introduction, greeted the crowd with a tinge of singlish with “thank you lah”.
Lastly RINA (drummer), ahhhh she’s such a cutie there. As stated earlier, her talents were not just restricted to the drums, she went down to do her solo with the guitar. The song that she played was "Oyasumi"

Crowd interaction was there mainly because HARUNA made an effort to converse in English. Due to the venue, theres some sound feedback but that did not deter the crowd from enjoying good piece of music. DOLL was the most fun performance as it's the only one you can twirl your towels in the air. Sea of lightsticks illuminates the venue and fans were notably high on the music being dished out. VIP fans who attended the hi-touch event, gave good response. Theres a difference in atmosphere for this concert. Perhaps mainly due to HARUNA's interaction. And during their performance of Yoake no Ryuuseigun (夜明けの流星群), fireworks were found shooting in the sky nearby. Though very likely the fireworks for another event altogether, it does complement well with the song. 

Shunkan Sentimental

The only sad part that I’ve yet to hear them perform Namida No Regret live. But otherwise, the concert is different from the others due to the solos sung. Support is still strong for the concert.

Han (Malaysia): I've got to know SCANDAL during AFA 2009. The song that resonates well with me is Shoujo S, as its the song used for the anime BLEACH. I like Tomomi because of her cute voice. Moreover, she helped create the lyrics to most of their songs!

Darny (Singapore): I am rock music fan myself and thus I have an affinity with SCANDAL. My favourite member is Haruna and was pleasantly surprised that her English improved for this concert. During the hi-touch session, Mami's smile gave a lasting impact. I love to attend their concert again!
