Anime Festival Asia SG 2017 - One Day Only :(

Yeap you read the title right. One Day Only. For this edition of AFA, I attend only for Day 3. What do you have on Day 3? Well the appearance of Moso Calibration on the Akiba Mini Stage. Looks like the days of attending AFA are numbered for me. Sighhh...

STGCC - POP Culture, "Clean Clean" and Mr. Kiasu

Tokyo Clears on stage in STGCC

Clean Clean Clean~~ Those words resonate in your head if you had attended STGCC. SERIOUSLY YOU CANT GET IT OUT OF YOUR HEAD! It was a weekend of fun and pop-culture and it is STGCC's 10 year anniversary.

Attending @JAM Expo 2017

This year I made a decision to skip Tokyo Idol Festival and try out something new. Why not attend @JAM? Have been attending TIF for the past 3 years, and heard good reviews about this event. Furthermore, all venues are indoors so no worries being burned by the scorching sun.

AtJam! As featured on their twitter

Location is at Yokohama Arena and its held from 26 - 27 August. I was lucky that TGU offered free tickets, although their announcement was like 4 days before event proper. It doesnt matter though, would get the paid tickets either way.

2017 Idolidge in Taiwan FINAL

Nagoya based group OSU!

Yet another trip to Taiwan. And another trip to Jack's Studio. This time is the Idolidge FINAL live event. It seems I am close making Taiwan as my 2nd overseas home (apart from Bangkok). This becomes the 4th overseas Ensei for the year. It certainly doesn't help that idol groups preferred to head to these countries instead of sunny Singapore.

[Rant-Out Corner] Clashing of Events

So on this particular day I finally received news of when CharaExpo will be held. Initially thought they would no-show since Anime Festival Asia announce the collaboration with C3 (which CharaExpo collaborated previously too). Extremely glad because it was this event that brought in Wasuta, Starmarie, ColorPointe and Q'ulle, thus held some expectations. And also NJPW and their exhibition matches. Only problem? The date clashed with STGCC!

You'll Melt More! Live in BKK

You'll Melt More! or ゆるめるモ!(pronounced as Yurumerumo), is not your typical idol group. Their music has a unique fusion of standard idol, rock and even electronica elements. Its hard to pinpoint exactly what is their theme, more so if you watched their lives and MVs. Group started in 2012 with quite a large number, but I only started noticed them when they were 6 members strong. That time Mone and Chibo were part of group till they left in 2016. This group has such influence that I've also listed them in my top 10 must see groups.

TALES Festival in Taiwan

Its back to Taiwan! Back to Jack Studio! This time to attend the "TALE In Wonderland Festival". Held from 8-9 April, its consists of the actual TALE In Wonderland event and the individual group's 'One Man Live' the day after. TALE Fes usually hold their events in Hong Kong, however for this iteration, they brought it to Taiwan. For this edition, groups attending were Beboga, Nijicon, Wasuta, Ariel Project and Tukuyomi Idol Project.

Saying Goodbye: The Disbanding of Rev.from DVL

Giving their final bow in their last MV

In just a few days, one of my favourite groups will disband. Rev.from DVL is special in a sense that I've been following them since their major debut. In fact, I have all the singles releases albeit the digital ones which unfortunately Recochoku blocks. Thus its only fitting I write an article about them before they peform for that one final time.

Japan Expo Thailand 2017

Its been 2 weeks since I've attended the euphoria that is Japan Expo Thailand! An annual event held in Bangkok promoting the friendly ties between Thailand and Japan, it doesnt hold back in delivering top notch content for everyone. Essentially its an event to showcase whats Japan has to offer. Let it be from food to travel to tradition, this event has it all.

Japan Expo back again for its 2017 edition~
