You'll Melt More! Live in BKK

You'll Melt More! or ゆるめるモ!(pronounced as Yurumerumo), is not your typical idol group. Their music has a unique fusion of standard idol, rock and even electronica elements. Its hard to pinpoint exactly what is their theme, more so if you watched their lives and MVs. Group started in 2012 with quite a large number, but I only started noticed them when they were 6 members strong. That time Mone and Chibo were part of group till they left in 2016. This group has such influence that I've also listed them in my top 10 must see groups.

I've yet to experience their live proper, and was blessed that Bangkok is one of their tour venues. Organized by Siamdol, an online Thai idol portal, its the group's first foray into Thailand. Naturally since its our first time attending, we opt for the VIP tickets which also includes the off-kai session.

Bluebox studio is small cosy venue. Located in M Theatre, its quite out of the way from the nearest train lines. Best that one opts the taxi or if you're adventurous, the motorbike (pillion with helmet! Wheee!). The only chillout eating place there is Starbucks and since its out of the way, its not crowded! Coffee in peace at last!

Studio itself is smaller than Taiwan's Jack Studio but small venues makes for an exciting live experience. One has to be there to listen wotas of different nationalities like Japan and China engaged in varied wota calls and mixes. Such immersive experience can only savoured in such small venue events. Though there are some technical hiccups here and there, it doesnt dampen the atmosphere. Their cover groups, Suteki Wings and Chone-Bi were the opening acts for each session respectively. Below is a snippet of how the live was like.

Look at how close we are to the stage!

Perhaps because its an overseas event, their buppan session has no pressure. We have a decent amount of talk time during 2-shots. Interaction was varied from member to member. For example, Kechon, she has some mastery of English. Chiffon, she's the most outgoing of the lot. In fact we have an engaging conversation. Younapi though unable to converse in the slightest of English, and tries to make topics i.e. pointing to my head and shirt. Now's the moment of truth, seeing Ano-chan in person. Conversation goes like this:

Me: Hello, I'm from Singapore.
Ano: Oh Hi.
Ano: Thank you.
Me: Can do this pose?
Ano: OK.
Ano: Your name?
*writes name*
Me: Would you want to come to Singapore?
Ano: OK. *stares with funny face*
*finish sign*
Ano: OK thank you. Bye.
*high five while making a strange face*

A cheki with her sticking out her tongue.

Uh.... ok... one word answers. Usually I would be turned off but somehow, its a mixture of dumbfounded and surprise. Thats the charm of Ano-chan, her unique demeanour and interaction makes you want to know 'what she'll do next?". However the classic Ano-chan will be like this:

At the buppan, both signed and non-signed 2-shots privileges were available. Or you can opt to get solo chekis. Other goods on sale are CDs, towels, t-shirt and lots more. As opposed to buy the CDs online and getting them shipped, the prices here are really worth it. Only regret was not getting their limited edition exclusive 'Live in Bangkok' T-shirt. Mainly because I opt to hold back from buying till end day that I forgotten about it.

Solo shots chekis

Signed Cheki ticket will be written as 'ON Sign'. The other one is 'NO Sign'

Ah! I'm the last for Younapi

The only cover group buppan seen was ChoneBi's. Met up with one of the member who incidentally went to TALEs Festival in Taiwan too! Opted for a 2-shot with that 'Miri' cover dancer. Here are their FB pages should one is curious to know more:

During off-kai, we were whisked to @Thonglo, which as its name suggests, is located smack next to Thonglor BTS station. The place's not bad, they even have a karaoke room in the dining area. Just like my previous off-kai sessions, the members will go table by table and have a small chit chat. This session is definitely worth it! It one of the most chill and longest off-kai I've been to. I have to thank the Japanese wotas who were together with us to help us connect with them. We even brought up that Singapore has a Zepp concert hall, hopefully they would consider coming over. Some like Kechon and Chiffon spent quite a longer time at our table, mainly because one of my comrades was trying to impress them with 'Uranai' (占い - Fortune telling)

In all, You'll Melt More! is a live concert that you shouldn't miss. If you want something different from your usually standard idol groups, this will be it. I tried my best to 'jio' (invite) them to Singapore, but otherwise should they visit Thailand or anywhere around the region, I dont mind attending.
